Many people give up on success because no matter how hard they try to accomplish something they end up losing steam somewhere along the road before reaching their destination.Recurrence of this scenario over a period of time can be very frustrating and discouraging. It can actually lead to loss of one's self-esteem.But there is an answer to this and this answer is our second success secret.
The answer lies in the "power of purpose". "Purpose" is a very compelling, driving force that gives you ceaseless energy to pursue your goals. You have no doubt heard of people who have suffered great persecution, trials and tribulations but who never wavered in their determination. The great achievers of this world fall into this category. The lives of Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Mother Theresa are clear examples. Each of these great individuals
had a purpose so strong, a reason-for being so profound, a driving force so powerful that nothing could stop them.
Now are you unstoppable? What purpose is propelling you forward? What reason-for-being is at the core of your goals? If all you are after is money for the sake of being wealthy then forget it - you will not go far.I recommend that you find a strong enough purpose - and you will become unstoppable.
There are many theories on motivation in modern literature. These include the needs theories (mainly associated with Maslow), the cognitive and the behavioural theories. From my own studies I have found that not one of these can adequately explain the source of motivation of most of the high achievers.
How do you explain that Nelson Mandela, who was once a small-time boxer, became the greatest statesman in Africa? How do the above theories explain the success of the illiterate Jairos Jiri's incredibly ambitious project? How can we possibly understand the mentality of the well-educated, young pilots who on September 11 2001 drove fully loaded passenger planes into the twin towers in Manhattan?
The only explanation that has withstood scrutiny, in my opinion, is what I have termed the power of purpose.Whether that purpose is right or wrong is subject to debate. But the fact of the matter is that a strong enough purpose can lead to outstanding achievements.
Do you believe you have an important mission to accomplish which only you
can see through to fruition? Do you have what it takes succeed against the odds? Are you unstoppable? Or are you just one of the crowd?
Discover your purpose in life and ensure you write it down. I will repeat that, please write your purpose down. There is power in your written word.
