Planning to Succeed
Can you imagine yourself, climbing to the top floor of the Reserve Bank building with neither ladder, nor elevator nor escalator? Definitely mission impossible for those of us not gifted with the tricky skills of mountain climbing.

Right now you are firmly on the ground. Your vision is the top floor of the building. In order to get there you need a ladder. The ladder in this example is the plan. Your plan enables you to climb from your current level to that desired point high above.
Without a plan you are like the hapless individual who (knows no mountain climbing but) has to get to the top of
the skyscraper without any means of elevation. You are not going to get anywhere - at least not upwards.

A plan need not be complicated. In its most basic form it is a list of tasks arranged in order of occurrence. Each task
must have a deadline. There is no need to be one hundred percent right when you're formulating your plan. In fact it's impossible to be that accurate. A plan always requires updating and revision. As the saying goes, the road to success is always under construction.

We live in a world of persistent disruptions and interruptions. In order for you to stay on course you need some kind of road map with milestones and other road markings. Without this road map you'll, mostly likely, get hopelessly lost.
Vision

Our minds have an uncanny ability to bring into reality those images that we constantly hold or see in our mind's
eye. This is one of the most marvelous and frightening qualities of the human mind. You can actually create something new by firstly seeing it in the workshop of your imagination.
eye. This is one of the most marvelous and frightening qualities of the human mind. You can actually create something new by firstly seeing it in the workshop of your imagination.
Obviously your imagination alone cannot transform the image from your mind into its physical form. However, the process of envisioning is critical since it is a pre-requisite of everything else. Do you think the Wright brothers would have invented the plane if they hadn't imagined it, seen it in their mental eyes? Do you think
Mahatma Gandhi would have pursued his cause if he hadn't envisioned a country governed by rules based on equality, fairness and justice?

Therefore the power of imagination is stronger than will power.
Picture in your mind's eye the goals that you want to achieve. See yourself having achieved those goals. Feel the emotions associated with the achievement. Dream in colour. Pay close attention to detail. Involve all your senses - add music, voices, odours - you name it.
Use you imagination. Start creating the results you desire, today.
