Boys will
be Boys......#SOTG
Growing up to reach
the stage where that little ambitious boy with dreams of becoming a man and a
father one day becomes a teenager .We all know it starts at 13 and ends right
about 20.To some it might seem to be the longest years one goes through
mentorship in entering the real world where real decisions are made and real
situations are dealt with.
But trully a lot of
responsibility is needed when the "boy" becomes a teen. The Feeling
Aint Fair truly as used by the few Kings-TehN|JB|Fizzo and i can say this
because i was there and i have been there.Experimenting becomes something
normal in every aspect be it drugs, clubbing, sex and so on.Practically being 13
introduces one to a whole lot of new things like the stage where one starts
high school. Now there comes the unfairness of the feeling, meeting new
people, learning new things in a different environment and growing up.
Personally I credit
13 with innocence up to maybe 15.But hold on thats the stage those feelings
start developing towards the opposite sex and changes on their
bodies.Infatuation rules at this stage and they start exploring and
understanding LOVE but they dont really know what it is.Back then thats when I
needed more white paper to write letters to girls but with whatsapp and
facebook im not sure if that still exists.Shyness shows it had never departed
although they are those lil fellows that have never lacked confidence in
anything.
I can say being a
teen guy can mould your future into a perfect artefact and at the same time
destroy it.That means the guy is most vulnerable at this point but what counts
is how we handle that vulnerability and deal with it.And most importantly its
how we choose our peers and the people we hang around with. They have the the
most influence believe it or not but its how we say NO to smoking weed that
makes us a real men when you are at school.I think im now motivated into
writting about friends later on.Doing stuff with peers be it good or bad can
make a guy feel inferior but take note a men makes the bests of desicions after
fully evaluating the situation.
And hold on im not
done as yet a teenage boy starts understanding the impact of sex.Thats also
another stage where the lot loses dignity and breaks dreams through early
pregnancies and not so optional marriages.Abstain and boy you not gonna die let
them laugh but be different and focused "Kumhanya handiko kusvika".To
the bit of grown ones between 16 and 19 I'd say my oh my swag tops all coz they
say it really makes one feel like they have the world in the palm of their
hand.Something We Africans Got (swag) as I call it,but real men and boys are
classical full of vision, strength and the capability of achieving anything
despite having the most expensive phone or clothes.
I do have to ask
the teen reading this out there...You are not exactly where you wanna be in
life yet you party every weekend. What exactly are you are you celebrating? Food
for thought.
Life out there aint
rosy and easy like we see on television, actually life is a syllabus were you never stop writing exams. Those that
act and entertain you on tv have perfected and put their all in acting so that
when you sit on that couch your heart races in anticipation wondering if
"Mawande Memela" will die. That should be a lesson to u so that you
learn to put your all in whatever you wanna achieve be it
academically,art,drama or sport.
I'd say to the
teenager out there ,a real guy always bursts with confidence and takes
responsibility in every action partaken. He finds his stride and starts to storm
up.The decisions you make today can have an impact on your future so decide
wisely.Become a true Student of The Game (SOTG) who is fully committed to
whatever he believes in despite of religion, political circles and our different
various backgrounds.Do not move from classrooms to bedrooms, or from books to
babies.
Look for
inspiration from people around you....the vendors,the conductors,the
shopkeepers, the doorman, the old and the young....they is always a story behind
everyone and its always interesting to hear different stories. These humble you
and make you a better person.
Being a boy is
pride and same goes for the Girl child out there. "Boys will be Boys,so
boys will make choices that either build up or destroy shit"
